Special Interests Discussion on Physics and philosophy

Let’s talk about the relationship between physics and philosophy. The philosophy of physics deals with conceptual and interpretational issues in modern physics, many of which overlap with research done by certain kinds of theoretical physicists.

Interpretations of quantum mechanics: mainly concerning issues with how to formulate an adequate response to the measurement problem and understand what the theory says about reality the nature of space and time: Are space and time substances, or purely relational? Is simultaneity conventional or only relative? Is temporal asymmetry purely reducible to thermodynamic asymmetry? inter-theoretic relations: the relationship between various physical theories, such as thermodynamics and statistical mechanics. This overlaps with the issue of scientific reduction. Suggested areas on the topic may include; space and time, Quantum Mechanics, The Everett Interpretation, The Uncertainty Principle, Aristotelian physics, Newtonian physics, Leibniz,

Facilitated by Steve Katz, this is going to be an informal discussion for adults diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism Spectrum disorders, think they might be on the spectrum, or for any reason, have difficulty with social communication, executive function, or sensory processing.

We invite you to participate in building our Autism community. Check out the link below and consider becoming a fundraiser or making a contribution. Once you are there, it’s as fun and easy as clicking on “Start Fundraising”, or “Make a Donation”.
